Staggered Group Quest

This kind of quest is a standard group quest. In this example, we will be making a 3 round quest.

Round 1:
Wampa X3, win 50 Credits

Round 2:
Reborn X2, win 80 Credits
Desann X1, win 120 Credits
Tavion X1, win 110 Credits

Round 3:
Rancor X1, Everyone wins 300 Credits



First off, make the terminal to start the quest. Spawnflags 2 makes the message only show up on screen, and not in the console.

Now, place the NPC spawners where you want them. Adjust the angles of the spawners to however you see fit.

On to the stuff that connects each of the rounds.
If you want, you can have a delay from when you press the button to when the npcs spawn.

/place target_delay * targetname,group_startdelay,target,group_1_npc,wait,40

Now, the counters. These are used to connect each round.
Code:
/place target_counter * targetname,group_1_counter,target,group_2_npc,count,3,bouncecount,-1
/place target_counter * targetname,group_2_counter,target,group_3_npc,count,4,bouncecount,-1

Next, you want to place a trigger across the entire room. Adjust the mins/maxs to fit the entire area. If the quest is designed for more than 10 people, place 2 triggers, but have it target a seperate warp and credits instead.

/place trigger_multiple 0 maxs,____,mins,____,spawnflags,129,targetname,group_trigger,target,group_done,wait,1

After the rancor is killed, you need to activate the trigger, and have it turn off after 10 seconds or so.

/place target_delay * targetname,group_3_rancordead,target,group_off,wait,10
/place target_deactivate * targetname,group_off,target,group_trigger

Place these so that the players get credits.

/place target_credits * targetname,group_2_reborn,count,80
/place target_credits * targetname,group_2_desann,count,120
/place target_credits * targetname,group_2_tavion,count,110
/place target_credits * targetname,group_done,count,300

Teleport for when you exit using the terminal
Code:
/place target_teleporter 30 targetname,group_exit

Teleport used after rancor is killed (Be sure to place this outside of the quest room)
Code:
/place target_teleporter 30 targetname,group_done

Finally, you need to have the terminal deactivate after the quest is started, and activate once everyone has warped out.

/place target_deactivate * targetname,group_startdelay,target,group_button
/place target_activate * targetname,group_off,target,group_button

Optional Messages
Code:
/place target_print * targetname,group_startdelay,message,^3The Group Quest will start in 40 seconds.
/place target_print * targetname,group_1_npc,message,^3The Group Quest has started.
/place target_print * targetname,group_3_rancordead,message,^3The Group Quest has been completed.

Why target delay?
just add delay,<seconds amount> to the NPC_spawner spawnstring

because you never liked the ones i made before. I had one on trip, and another on suprise, before it was wiped. Maybe i will see if i can cram another bsp on yavin and make one there...
